Massage Therapy

Massage therapy consists primarily of hands on manipulation of the soft tissue of the body, specifically the muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints for the purpose of optimizing health.

Physical dysfunction and pain, as well as the effects of stress, can be relieved and prevented through the use of massage therapy.

Specific manual techniques are used to help improve circulation, relieve muscular tension and pain, reduce stress and promote health and well being.

What is Myofascial Cupping:

Myofascial cupping is a type of massage therapy which uses a cup applied to the skin. The pressure in the cup is reduced by suctioning out air so that the skin and superficial muscle layer is drawn into and held in the cup. In some cases, the cup may be moved while the suction on the skin is active, causing a regional pulling of skin and muscle and therefore a more broad release.  Myofascial Cupping is unique in that negative pressure is the means for changing tissue adhesions.

Benefits of myofascial cupping include:

  • Assisting the body in maintaining range of motion
  • Eliminating myofascial trigger points
  • Reducing restrictive and painful facial adhesion's commonly found from repetitive movement
